Fourth of July Greetings and Great Food Ideas

ID-100100260Happy 4th of July, my friends!!  The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays, for a number of reasons, but mostly because it reminds me of how very hard the pilgrims and founding fathers fought and worked to establish America as a nation.   How blessed we are to live in a country with so many freedoms and so much opportunity.

I’ll be keeping it short and sweet today by, first of all, sharing a link with you about how it’s vitally important that you take care when dealing with fireworks tomorrow and throughout the holiday weekend.  You can find that story by clicking here.

Second, I thought I’d share some of my favorite recipe ideas in case you’re looking bring or make food for a holiday gathering of some sort.

Looking for something sweet?  Try my Delicious Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe or my Blueberry Streusel Muffin recipe.  Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Pistachio Salad are two more party favorites.

Looking for something on the salty side?  Try our Homemade Pico De Gallo, our Homemade Guacamole or our Homemade Potato Chip/Veggie Dip.  If you’re looking for a dish, try these delicious Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches, or, a potluck favorite, Mom’s Spanish Rice.

Whatever your plans, I hope you have a safe and super fun weekend.    Thank you, so much, for being a part of the Frugal Farmer family. 🙂

Great food ideas! July 4th may be a washout here in the NY area so it might mess up many people’s plans for BBQs. We’re celebrating our son’s 1st birthday this weekend at the park (the rain should be gone by then) so we might try out some of the recipes! Enjoy the long weekend!

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about you guys and the other NY bloggers, Andrew!! Hopefully that rain isn’t too much of a mess, huh? Have a great time celebrating your son’s birthday. Give him a birthday high five from us. 🙂

Thank you for letting me part of your frugal family. Happy 4th of July. I’ll make the pineapple upside down cake tomorrow and let you know how it went. Enjoy your weekend.

Thank you, Britnee, for being a part of our family – we so appreciate your friendship and support. Have a wonderful weekend! Yes, for sure let me know how you like the cake – it’s a family favorite here. 🙂

My wife and kids will be blueberry picking tomorrow, and I’ll be looking forward to the blueberry cobbler she’ll make with them. 🙂

    Happy 4th!

  4. Have a wonderful 4th Laurie! We are taking our 3 little ones camping, which we’ve done many times, but this time we’re backpacking in, so they’ll each have their own little pack with their clothes and sleeping bag. It should be fun!

  5. Ok, I’m now officially hungry! 🙂 I could not agree more Laurie, we are blessed to live in this country and have the freedoms we have. There is a lot wrong, but we have so much to be thankful for. Hope you have a great 4th friend!

LOL, funny. 🙂 Yes, in spite of all of the problems, we do indeed have much to be grateful for. You guys have a great weekend. 🙂

We had to cancel our plans to attend a July 4th fireworks/concert as it was cancelled due to the impending bad weather in NY. Wishing you and your family a happy 4th of July!

I have wanted to make a pineapple upside down cake for the longest time. I don’t know why I don’t ever get to it!! That pistachio salad looks pretty delish too : ) Happy 4th!

  8. Happy Fourth of July to you too and thanks for your best wishes. I love the Fourth, particularly when it falls on a Friday. Thanks too for your great sounding food suggestions. I will try a couple of them out someday.

Happy 4th, Laurie! I’m contributing red, white, and blue muffins for a brunch (strawberry, white chocolate, and blueberry muffins) so I might have to try that blueberry streudel recipe!

Indeed we are, Kalen, in no small part to faithful military personnel such as yourself. Thank you, for all that you do. 🙂
