Greetings, friends! Don’t you just love fall? There’s nothing that compares to the mild temps, the beautiful colors, and the heart-warming sounds of leaves crunching under you feet when fall comes around.
I thought that, it being fall and all, that I’d share today a different version of Good Reads. We’ll still run our Saturday PF version this week, but today I wanted to share some of the amazing fall recipes I’ve been finding out there! You’ve just got to try them!
1. Mr. CBB at Canadian Budget Binder shared a recipe for Pumpkin Spice Pound Cake with Brown Butter Buttercream. This is a sweet treat that’ll make your mouth water just looking at it. Great for Thanksgiving dinner!
2. Tanya from over at Eat Laugh Purr shared a yummy sounding recipe on Tackling Our Debt called Great Pumpkin Chili. I dare you to try this rich, different and super tasty version of chili.
3. Mario from Debt Blag shared an easy and frugal recipe for Pumpkin Pancakes. It’s a true “guy” recipe – even those boys (and girls 🙂 )who don’t care much for cooking can whip this one up easy enough.
4. Jim from Critical Financial had a rockin’ recipe for Wicked Good Pumpkin Seeds at his site, Critical Financial. We don’t usually roast our own pumpkin seeds, but we will this year!
5. Mr. CBB gets more link love today with his Roasted Pumpkin and Red Lentil Soup. There’s nothing like a warm soup to take the chill off of those cold winter days.
6. Tanya from over at Eat Laugh Purr gets double the love too, with this fun and easy recipe for Apple Monkey Bread with Maple Cream Cheese Glaze. You use pre-packaged biscuits with this one – super easy, and delicious!
7. And last but not least, here at The Frugal Farmer I shared a great recipe for Easy and Delicious Apple Crisp. Super simple, extra good!
Whether for Thanksgiving, Halloween, or just an extra special fall dinner at home, you can easily find reasons to try all of these great recipes. Have fun!
Ok, now I think I am officially hungry…thanks Laurie! 🙂
It could be a fabulous kind of a dessert weekend, John. 🙂
Talk about yummy food! Thanks for sharing, can’t wait to try some of these.
🙂 Gladly, E.M.! Hope you enjoy them.
I’m all over that apple crisp recipe this weekend. My Dad just brought us a bunch of apples and I need something yummy to do with them! have a great weekend Laurie!
That was our deal! Somebody loaded us up with free apples, and we just had to put them to good use. The sign of a true farm and/or frugal family. 🙂
So many delicious-sounding recipes, Laurie! Tanya makes some great treats. I always tell myself, just a bite, just a bite. Sometimes I break my own rules. 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Oh, I know! Tanya’s recipes are giving me a good lesson in self-control. 🙂
Oh yum! I have dozens of pumpkins here waiting to be cooked and pureed to make pumpkin everything! I’m up to my ears in Halloween costumes right now, but after this weekend, I will start in on them. Thanks for sharing some yummy seasonal recipes!
You should be able to pack your freezer up pretty good! Sounds like fun. 🙂
Thanks Laurie! These sound so delicious, I can’t wait to try the Pumpkin pancakes. Yum! I love this time of year. My favorite is the Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks. I usually dont’ spend money on Starbucks (I’m too cheap for that!) but I get one of these each year.
I’ve heard those pumpkin spice lattes’ are fabulous! Maybe the hubs and I will have to go out and get one – he loves that stuff. 🙂
Thanks for sharing. I’m loving these recipes. Thanks.
They are delicious – enjoy, Britnee!
The monkey bread sounds incredible! Yum Yum!
Doesn’t it? Monkey bread on its own is mouthwatering, but monkey bread with apples? YUM!
Thanks Laurie for sharing my pumpkin cake. I hope you try it. We love it. Have a great weekend. Not sure what I’m making this weekend but it’s going to be delicious!! Cheers! CBB
Gladly, Mr. CBB! Love sharing your awesome stuff. 🙂
Thanks for sharing my recipes, Laurie! I really appreciate the shout-out! A big bowl of pumpkin chili would be so good right now. It’s really started to cool down in LA. You know – like 60 degrees on Monday. Maybe even rain! Brrrrr…. LOL! I totally did my time in Minnesota, scrapping ice off my windshield, etc! I love apple crisp too so I’ll have to take a look at your recipe. Apples are sale this week too – woo-hoo! Yeah, one bummer here. No apple orchards. 🙂
Wow – that’s really cold for you guys! I don’t know if we could make it without apple orchards – it’s the one thing we’ve got an abundance of that helps us to stay here, besides family/friends, of course. 🙂
Some delicious eats there Laurie. My favorite foods in fall are butternut squash anything (roasted, soup, fried..) and stews. Warm and comforting.
I’ve always wanted to try a good butternut squash recipe!
